Goodbye Malaysia, Hello Scotland!

I'll be leaving to Edinburgh, Scotland for work for a couple of months. All set to go! I've got a big bag to put all my clothes and toiletries and another smaller bag full of food, A hand carry bag which has my coat and my laptop bag.

New Hairdo..

I was supposed to go to the salon for a trim but instead, I cut it short with a new hair style. Do I look good with this new look? I call it the 'fuss free hair style' coz I told the hairstylist that I want a hairstyle where it will need the least care and maintenance.. I'm a lazy person! ahha..

I've become Miss Popular at work for the day. Thanks to my little plant.. which attracted everyone to my cubicle. Welcome 'Flip Flap'! A new family member to my existing gang of 'friends' at work!

Valentine's Day

I celebrated my V day at the airport! Everyone asked me how come I'm going to the airport.. I told them that my bf's a pilot! haha.. Oh well.. nobody trusted me..

Why can't I have a bf who's a pilot? Guess I dont have the qualities to be one! haha...Anyway, I was at the airport to send my sister off to NZ. Back to the land of cows to study. :)

Ang Powsssss

My Ang Pow collection this year aint that great compared to those days when I was younger. Is it true that when we get older, the collection will become lesser and lesser? I used to get more than a thousand ringgit when I was young.. and a thousand ringgit is quite a lot of money those days compared to now.

This was the first ang pow I received from my uncle which was very nice. Look at the dog.. stands out. 100 bucks in it too.

This is another ang pow which I like. The lantern is actually a card which is stuck on to the gold ang pow.

CNY Break

My whole week of CNY break is purely eating, drinking, visiting and a bit of gambling. Turning myself into a night owl as well.. sleeping early in the morning and waking up in the afternoon.. Haven't done that for a very long time! :)

Going back to work tomorrow... and I know it's going to be a tough day.. Have to adjust myself back to the working mode. I'm sure everyone else will have the same problem ... all feeling lazy after the one week break!

My aunt went to Hong Kong disneyland during the Chinese New Year break and I asked her to get me Mickey and Minnie! Another pair of mouse to add to my collection! :)

It's Chinese New Year Eve today! Everyone is busy preparing for the big day which starts tonight with the reunion dinner. Mum is super busy today..cooking.. cleaning ... decorating. And what am I doing, updating my blog! Wat a useless daughter.. hehe.. The thing is, the more I help, the more havoc I'm creating.. haha It's better that I just sit there quietly and help her when she needs my help.

For Christmas, we have Santa Claus.. and for Chinese New Year, we have God of Prosperity (GOP). I find that Santa and GOP have many similarities… What do you think?

a) Santa is red and so is God of Prosperity.
b) Both have long beard.. though one is white and the other is black

d) Generous (One gives out pressies.. whereas the other gives out $$ or fortune)

I have a mission to accomplish. I have a box of chocolate and I have to finish it all up. If the researchers are right about chocolates, then I'll be feeling happy for the next 25 days if I were to eat one piece a day! :)

I think I'm gonna attack two chocolates for dessert tonight. Chocss... here I come!

My stay in the land of 'GAJAH' , Alor Gajah

Monday..Tuesday..Wednesday..Thursday.. FRIDAY!!! Time flies really quickly and I’m going HOME today! When you are busy and activities filled up your time, you don’t really feel the days passing by.

Though I’ve got not much life in this land of ‘elephant’ compared to the life in KL, I don’t really feel bored thanks to ‘Ah Wong’ – The chinese drama that have been accompanying me every night and not forgetting the lovely fireworks they have every 9:45pm at the resort where I’m staying.

Anyway, Chinese New Year is just a week away and everyone is talking about their holiday plans, CNY preparation and food. I missed the celebration last year and I'm really looking forward to this coming one. :)

I still remember on CNY eve last year, everyone was having their reunion dinner, welcoming the 'God of Prosperous', all in the CNY mood in Malaysia while me, stuck at the other side of the world... in a foreign land where they don't even know what's CNY ...WORKING!

Anyway, for my CNY dinner, I went to the Chinese restaurant at the hotel that I'm staying. I asked for some special dishes they have for CNY and the chef recommended me some seafood noodle. Not knowing what really that was and I didn't have much of a choice, I ordered what he recommended. Guess what the noodle is... it came out to be Seafood Udon! My my... I'm having UDON for CNY! :)

My Laptop Backpack!

After searching for a backpack for months, I've finally found one which suits me. It's not a simple task really.. finding the one that you like, and most importantly, fits my body size. ;)

Medicine nowadays?

Pick a guess how much these medicine cost?

I went to see the doctor just now to get some medicine/cream for my eczema. The clinic that I went to is quite cool, fully equipped with computers and audio system. They actually call your name with the PA system. 'Miss Kate..please go to Room1'.

As I entered the room, the doctor which looked pretty sleepy greeted me with a big smile on his face! He asked what's wrong with me and I told him that I needed some cream for my eczema which is due to dryness. The doctor said that he's going to give me some tablets to stop the itch (which I wont take, as usual.. haha) and some cream (which is what I needed).

I went to the counter to collect my medicine and they handed me two receipts which I was required to sign. I was quite surprised with it. I didn't pay them any money as I had an ING medical card. Anyway, I signed it and was quite shocked with the bill amount as well. Try to give a wild guess how much those medicine cost. Any idea?

It cost RM53 just for the medicine and for consultation fee, it's RM17. All in all, RM70. My gosh! That is so expensive. That explained why the doctor was so happy to see me! :D

I need Luck!!! I need lots of them in fact. I find that luck is really important in our lives and it does play a big role. Who doesn't believe in luck? I'm sure everyone does.

Of course we can't just rely on luck itself. I can't just be sitting there and wait for luck to come. Just sitting there, lazing around and wait for luck to come and hit the jackpot and be filthy rich! haha...

Once you've put full effort in something and with a little bit of luck, Voila! You'll get what you want!

My Feng Shui Place at work

There're some reshuffling of places in the office and I am moving to my new feng shui place. Why do I consider it my feng shui place? That's because I'm surrounded by water (The pantry's just next to me), mountain (The cabinet behind me) and so happen my horoscope ally, the horse, which is in front of me...(My colleague). What more can I ask for? haha...

My Year - The Year of the Dog!

My car's back window got smashed due to some very nice people who wanted to take my sister's Fila shoes from my car. I think they were just too lazy to find me for the keys. So, the short cut to it was to smash the window.

So people, do not leave your shoes in the car! It’s not a safe place although the car is locked.

Cake Hunting....
I went to search for a Birthday cake for my sister today. It's her 21st Birthday. What a wide selection of cakes in the cake shop.. How nice if I get to taste each and every cake in the shop before deciding which one to buy. ..Have you ever wonder why can we taste ice creams before choosing the flavours we want and not cakes? I usually try at least 5 different flavours of ice cream before deciding which one to buy... haha ;)
Anyway, I ended up buying a Blueberry Cheese cake. My sister prefers cheese cake to choco cakes.



Steamboat for dinner...

Went to Moven Peak for dinner. It's a buffet style steamboat.. Ate a lot.. Will have to go on a diet starting tomorrow.. haha

New Year Countdown in Ipoh

Big Bang Bing Bang!!! That's the sound of the fireworks display in Ipoh at 12am sharp to welcome Year 2006! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Many people turned up to watch the fireworks display but I was quite disappointed with it. Nothing spectacular about it compared to those in KL.

Meet my friends at work...

Is it normal to feel a bit lazy after 2 weeks of break or is it just me? My brain is processing a bit slower than usual.. haha

Anyway, the first thing I saw on my desk when I got into the office was this cute little Narnia character which is a monkey sitting on my cat. Wonder who did that to my poor little cat...haha.. Nice to see my cute little friend again.. who is always smiling at me no matter what happens :)
