Temptations.. temptations...

I was passing by some famous cake shop in London and without thinking of whether I'm hungry or not, I went in to the shop. There were just so many cakes and biscuits to choose from. I queued up and waited for my turn to be served and just simply pointed at anything which looks nice.

I ordered a piece of cake, and two other chocolate biscuits look-alike which cost me 7 pounds in total. I know it’s a bit pricey especially after conversion; it’s about RM50, but how can you not buy and eat them?

Chef Kate

Does Chef Kate suits me? haha.. the last time I cooked a proper meal was during Form 3 where everyone is required to cook, which is part of Home science subject.

I've got no choice now but to dig out my cooking skills and knowledge which was embedded somewhere and try to cook a decent meal for myself and also my colleagues. :) I volunteered to prepare soup and vegetables for dinner last night. My other 2 guy colleagues, prepared chicken. Rachel prepared the rice.

I give myself 6 out of 10 points if I were to rate myself yesterday (The meals I prepared was really simple.. haha..) Oh well.. what do you expect from someone who doesnt know how to cook? haha.. I'm learning already and by the time I go back to Malaysia, I'll be a qualified Chef Kate!! :D

Tilford Woods

Tell me how you feel when you see trees without leaves every morning and evening.. on the way to work and back from work.. All brown nothing else.. DEPRESSING rite? I need to see more colours!!! Paint me a colourful view!

I'm now back in the office in Fleet and I'm staying in Tilford Woods.. it's really in the woods ya know.. no joke! The journey from the lodge to the office takes about 35-40 minutes.. Phew! (I know this is pretty normal back home.. )

I'm sharing a lodge with Rachel... it's much better than staying in the hotel room.. at least we can do some cooking now and have a proper dining place, proper living room.. get to feel more at home :) and not forgetting.. I get to buy ICE CREAM!!! Yummie.. I bought a pint of Ben & Jerry ice cream - 'Dublin Mudslide' and the taste is *UNDESCRIBABLE*... gosh.. makes me wanna eat it now.. haha I'm definitely going to get more of these.. wanna try all the flavours.. :)

Next assignment - Fleet office

Just wondering where I'll be going next and got news that I'll have to go back to the office in Fleet as there's no more work for me here in Edinburgh. Packed all my stuffs into my big big bag.. and London, Here I COME!!!!

It's pretty tiring moving from one place to the other especially tugging along my big big bag.. just imagine.. the bag is slightly taller than half my height and the weight of it is slightly more than half my weight.. With a backstrain record few years back, I can't carry heavy stuffs anymore..

And at such situation, how nice if there's someone big and strong around to help you with it.. Dream on... haha :)

Wat's next?

It's my 3rd week here in Edinburgh and there’s another 3 more weeks to go before my role in this project finishes. I have no idea what’s my plan after that. Will I be going back to KL or will I be going to another project in the UK?

That’s the bad side of working in the consulting line where everything is so last minute. You will only know the plan a few days prior to the assignment. This disrupts everything. I can’t plan for anything at all… Sighz..

Heavy Snow

Is it Christmas? That’s the question I asked myself when everything out there is white. It feels so much like Xmas.. Everywhere is covered with snow and it’s still snowing. Edinburgh was hit by heavy snow yesterday. This is the first time I’m witnessing such bad weather conditions. Heavy rain or flood is pretty normal back home.. but not heavy snow.

This is the biggest snow ball ever made by me! haha

I’ve never made a snowman before and thought of doing one. I went out there and tried to roll a big snow ball. Mission failed. Wind was too strong and I’m without gloves.. I don’t want any frozen hands.. phew!

Weekend outing - Gretna, Brittania & Calton Hill

Gretna which was about 2 hours drive away from Edinburgh. Call us crazy or what.. the main objective of going to Gretna was for shopping!!! I came across the outlet village while browsing through some brochures about places of interest in Scotland. We girls were on a shopping spree... buying Ralph Lauren's clothes. I got myself a sweater and a pair of shoes.. Quite a bargain actually...

Apart from shopping, we managed to slot in some time for visiting as well. Pity Chi... Came all the way from Portsmouth to Scotland for shopping.. Sorry mate! We visited Gretna Green. I'm not sure what place that is at the beginning. Just followed the signboards which lead us to this tourist spot. It's actually the World Famous Blacksmith's shop and it's famous for runaway marriages.. Anyone interested? *wink*

Look at that!!! Hairy cow.. and it's HUGE!!! It's 2.5 times bigger than the size of a normal cow back home.

Upon returning to Edinburgh, we decided to take the scenic trail. The scenery is really beautiful. Look at the pictures. You can find more pictures in my photo album.

The next day, we decided to go to some places in Edinburgh which I haven't been before. That's the ship - Brittania and Calton Hill to balance up on shopping and visiting! :D

But dont get fooled by the appearance.. these are sour! :(

It's SNOWING!

It snowed for a while yesterday and it snowed again today. This time, it's much heavier. Took this picture from the window next to me.

Arrived Edinburgh safely on the 27th February, 11pm. Here I am again after one year!

It's 6.15pm UK time and I feel tired and sleepy. I should be in bed by now if I'm in Msia. Still feeling jet-lagged...guess it'll take at least a week to adjust.

I went to town to do some shopping yesterday and spent quite a bit on groceries and clothes. The town is still the same. There's this shop where it says closing down sale last year. I still see the same closing down sale yesterday. Guess it's always closing down sale for this particular shop. Dont get tricked by all those closing down sale signs.. haha
